Hi! I'm Ethan. I'm an electrical engineering major finishing my master's at Binghamton University. Currently my work is in Physical Electronics and Electro-Optics. PCB, analog and digital circuit design on one side, semiconductor lasers and fiber-optic systems on the other.
Latest Projects
LM317 driver designed in KiCad that holds output current flat against supply variation, building toward a protected laser diode driver with current limiting and modulation.
Circuits & PowerCoupled carrier and photon rate equations with gain compression, solved in MATLAB. Threshold current 22.9 mA, with relaxation oscillations at 5 to 15 GHz under 100 ps direct modulation.
Optics & PhotonicsCascaded biquad stages giving a 1 kHz to 50 kHz passband with over 45 dB stopband. Poles solved by hand to prove stability, then verified by recovering a 30 kHz tone from white noise.
